Cape Clogs Manufacture is Still By Hand
Cape Clogs were first made in Smaland in the southern region of Sweden over 150 years ago. For six generations, the clog manufacturing process has passed from parent to child and the best practices have been preserved and refined to make the clogs the company offers today. Cape Clogs is celebrating its fifth birthday.
The clogs made by this generation's precessors were designed to provide a unique solution for the lives we lead today. They had be be comfortable for long hours of work, and they needed to be light, supportive, and durable enough to wer every day and all year.
Today's clogs, like the originals, are made from light alder wood which is dried for months and then molded and shaped with a wind-powered lathe. The uppers are genuine leather and the children's shoe includes a moveable heal strap.
Shown is the Pink Periwinkle, full of spirit with tiny blue and pink eyelets that blend well with spring silhouettes of jeans, dresses and leggings. Children styles come with a heel safety strap. For women sizes 5‐11; MSRP $85 and children’s sizes 8‐3, $50.
