Monte Design Group’s offers gliders and rockers, as well as a contemporary rocking bassinet and high chair.  Founded by Ralph and Michelle Montemurro, the company’s products meet its founder’s vision of comfortable, functional, and design-driven products for the nursery and home.

     The first piece in the collection, the Luca Glider, was introduced after what Ralph says were “40 prototypes, maybe even more.  We lowered the arm, we swapped piping fabrics, we made just about every adjustment imaginable until it looked and felt right.” It’s available in nine colors with a choice of 10 colors of piping and 10 colors of lumbar pillows. Suggested retail price is $995.  

     Recently made available, the Grano is Monte Designs’ first chair that both glides and reclines. Set to hit stores in early December, Grano is offered in 12 colors/material choices and includes a coordinating lumbar pillow. Starting suggested retail price is $1,195.  Also available are the Alto Rocker (suggested retail price $795), the Vola glider (suggested retail price $995), and the Low-Rider Glider (suggested retail price $845). A non-moving ottoman carries a suggested retail price of $285, while gliding ottomans carry a suggested retail price of $385.

     The Ninna-Nanna bassinet features a removable basket that nestles into a dark brown solid birch rocker base. The bassinet’s sturdy and protective sides are covered by a removable and machine-washable suede microfiber. Also included is a waterproof mattress and 2 fitted 100% cotton sheets. The suggested retail price is $395.
With a suggested retail price of $299 is the Tavo high chair, available in three seat colors of  bonded (recycled) leather.  The base is solid maple with a clear or espresso finish and includes a permanent T-bar and adjustable seat belt.  Cubino chairs and loveseats are of durable foam with microfiber  
covers in eight color combinations. The chairs carry a suggested retail price of $109, while the loveseat’s suggested retail price is $139.  Monte Design’s products are manufactured by skilled crafts persons in Toronto, Canada. Foam, fabrics, wood, and adhesives meet a variety of environmental standards.

     Monte Design’s production team builds each product the old-fashioned way, creating an entire piece from start to finish, not via an assembly line.
