LamanBlu releases fall/holiday collection in eco-friendly colors
Designer Holli Gibson recently introduced her latest LamanBlu collection for fall and holiday 2012 offering the luxury of sustainable fabrics. The collection includes fabrics from beautifully draping bamboo and modal to organic cottons blended with recycled polyester to hemp and denim—all exquisitely trimmed.
The prints for the season are inspired by the Silk Road and the intricate detailing introduced to the rest of the world through that trade route to Asia. Paisley is a motif of Indian and Persian origin and LamanBlu brings it out in blues and pinks as well as black and white. The individual paisleys have been turned into animal motifs such as butterflies, hummingbirds, kittens, fish, and snails.
Equestrian themes are another important point of inspiration for this season’s collection, and the deep blues of denim play well into the color theme. “With movies like Warhorse on the horizon, the equestrian world is making its mark on international design once again with tailored riding pieces,” says StyleSight.
LamanBlu has added whimsy to its equestrian-inspired pieces, including velvet ribbons and roses. The styling trends toward the twirly, ranging from twirly petticoat dresses to twirly skirts and even twirly jeans (and there is a smartly styled option for brother also).
LamanBlu has dedicated this season in support of the charity Falling Whistles, a campaign for peace in Congo. To learn more about Falling Whistles, visit www.fallingwhistles.com.
Dresses and coordinated separates are available for girls sizes 6 mos–6x.
